When completing the 2001 UK census I completed the section on Religion for both Fiona and I, and I marked us both down as belogning to the religious faith of the Jedi. Doing a silly thing like this was a popular meme at the time but I wasn't exacty sure how many people actually went through with it, but it seems for England and Wales at least, that 390,000 UK citizens are Jedi's too!
It appears that the authorities were Forced to create a new religious category in the census for all of us Jedi, to record the thousands of naughty respondents who completed their census forms in this way. Do you know what this means? This means that The Force actually exists and can have an effect on large imperialistic bodies! Is this the beginning of a whole religious movement that, one day, will culminate in a major bust up featuring a tall dark cyborg with breathing difficulties and a death star in a Galaxy far, far away? Am I one of Yoda's ancestors to be?
Actually, the thing that compelled me to do this was the thought that in a hundred years or more, my great,great,great,great..... grandchildren might look up my census records and find out that I had a real sense of humour. Not content with making people smile this side my life I wan't to make people smile long after I'm dead. Funny that.
