Yes, I know it's all meant as a bit of idle humo(u)r but having thought about it a little more I guess there are serious questions here.
Is the Web US centric? Probably.
Is it English language centric ? Definitely.
Is this good or bad? What would the Web be like if it was the Swedish military that had developed the internet in the first place? Probably not the size it is today and the fact it is so big today is largely to be credited to the good old people of the US of A. But now it's here is it time to give it over to the rest of the world?
Surprisingly few sites have language translation facilities, usually only non-English language sites where the poor folks have to do at least something to smooth the path to their doors for us English-only speaking denizens of the web.
