Webex Vanity Popups

I love the web. I love hacking around with it (in a non developer sense) and finding new uses for it in everyday life. In particular, cleverly subversive ideas that can be applied to the world of business.

Like Michael's totally boomshakalaka idea of a timed email service where you could preset various self affirming, social status enhancing fake emails to be delivered to you when you are smack bang in the middle of a Webex (or other web app sharing demoware service; Placeware etc.) so that the people you're demo-ing to are (as far as they know) accidentally reading your inbound email notifications as they pop up during the demo. Only thing is, the fantasy email notification is just that; a total fabrication, post-dated by you to show up just at the right time.

The possibilities are endless here. You could help secure a deal by prescribing a client empathetic fake email to show up, like if your client was a charitable organisation then a fake message from another charity "Thanking you personally for giving up your time last weekend.." would do your status or your deal no harm at all.

Or, a spattering of fake emails along the lines of "Your company has just been shortlisted for this years awards..." or "I would just like to say how happy I am with your product...", or sympathy generating fake emails from your boss like "If you don't close that deal today, YOU'RE FIRED!"

Awesome idea, Michael. Two gold stars!!

Now we just need someone to set-up the service, should be pretty simple.
