At what point did the storage requirements of home users overtake those of 98% of businesses?

I suppose this must have an effect on the next ten years of technological evolution. Rather than utilitarian hand-me-down technology going into homes, how long before home use values like style, art and design being to infiltrate our offices? Might be an idea to buy some stocks in hard disk and storage companies.
