Body clock shouting "GET UP, IT'S LUNCH-TIME!!", when in fact was just before 5am. So up I got regardless of the time of day and now I'm sitting here as the sun rises and the coffee percolates. This is fun, you know this is a strange experience for me, as I've never been to the states before. I've been every where else on this planet (almost) but never to the land of the free. But, unlike visiting east asia for instance, all the cultural references are immediately recognisable after a lifetime of northern american 'entertainment' on UK TV.
In fact, so familiar are the cultural references, that I'm thinking about taking this principle of remote-study a stage further and hiring a car this weekend just to see if I can 'handle' driving in the US purely on the basis of my understanding of the highway laws and regulations garnered from CHiPs, Starsky & Hutch, Knight Rider et al, and a more-than-healthy dose of experience playing Grand Theft Auto : Vice City these past few months.
Bite me!
