I'm slowly entering the market for a new PDA. My current 2000 vintage PocketPC does a good enough job but it's a bit slow and chunky, the battery life sucks and it doesn't have Bluetooth while my current mobile phone now does. If you've ever tried to connect a PDA to the web with just Infra-red on a 9600kbps GSM modem connection (whilst driving, ahem) then you absolutely haven't lived, and life is far too short for such activities.
The new WiFi/Bluetooth/Biometric Security IPAQ has the all the spec you can possibly need but the Palm Tungsten T just looks like sex on a stick and it's also half the cost. But I'm concerned that the Palm OS just doesn't cut it these days, I used an original Palmpilot from 97-99 but I don't see much improvement in the current Palm OS 5 beyond speed and colour. Pocket PC on the other hand works more like a PC and is more or less a slicker version of my current rig. Any recommendations?
