I just found out about this today, apparently Noddy Holder, frontman for classic British 70's glam rock band Slade, was asked by way of a tribute to record lift announcements for a new art gallery in his home town and I can't fathom why this concept hasn't caught on more widely.
What this planet needs right now is celebrities recording elevator announcements, I mean just imagine Jack Nicholson sneering "5th floor, now you be sure and have a nice day" or George Dubya "Um, we have just arriverated at the 20th floor." or Ozzy Osbourne "Shaaaron, I think we've f**king lost the 9th floor again.".
Working life would certainly be a little more bearable.
