The Dimensional Web

Clever people tell me if you left earth in a spaceship and travelled around for 30 seconds at just under the speed of light before returning back to earth, that you'd arrive back on earth seven years earth time after you left, or thereabouts anyway. This is because the faster something moves, the slower the passage of time around it.

If you were to email a simple paragraph of text to a friend on the opposite side of the earth it would typically arrive there about 2 weeks before its earth time snail-mail equivalent.

I like how those two things feel somehow related to each other.
