If You Build It They Will Come

It should be abundantly clear to even a Muppet that Dennis Howlett knows what he wants and knows how to get it. Had we known each other professionally say ten years ago, Dennis and I might have enjoyed a somewhat strained and mutually distrusting, hack vs. vendor relationship. I'm sure there's still some potential for disagreement and imbalance in this new decloaked world, but there's a darn sight more potential for trust and respect too.

I'm particularly enjoying watching him relish in the prospect of building his own corner and place in the new world of business and publishing, his enthusiasm and passion is palpable.

Whilst the US court case is unlikely to affect BlackBerry users outside the US - like me - there's one aspect of owning a BlackBerry that I could do with getting shot of. No inbuilt camera. My moblogging and Flickr activities have died completely since I switched over to the camera-less BlackBerry 7100 last summer. I keep thinking I should buy another mobile phone with a camera in it, but my inner geek karmic master says "No! You already leave the house every day with with an iPod, FM transmitter for said iPod, a Blackberry and a TomTom One - you DO NOT need another device."

But it's still a pisser.
